A BlankTV Premiere Presentation:
Kyoto Drive - "Breathe"
Adam from Kyoto Drive:"Breathe", the song, is basically about sex, lets not skip around that fact. The song is written from the viewpoint of the boy, looking for some kind of sign that the girl is enjoying herself as much as he is. So it's kind of a love song, kind of not, and no matter what guys say, we've all been there, we've all waited for that second of recognition from that girl that we REALLY liked. So following on from that we really wanted to do a boy/girl story style video, keep it in theme with the song, plus we've done the whole band performance video thing, we wanted to try something new. This is what Josh the director came up with..."
The band came together in 2009 as Birmingham boys Adam, Mike and brothers Mark and Chris joined forces with a vision of creating something uplifting, something catchy, something powerful. Kyoto Drive was born. The band hit the ground running, got themselves a van and started touring the UK and putting out music. Two years down the line the band had stacked up UK and European support tours with The Morning Of, Rookie Of The Year and Mae, as well as sharing the stage with pop rock heavy weights The Starting Line, Hit The Lights and Young Guns.
2012 has already seen a lot happen with original member Chris leaving the band in January. Fortunately after a recommendation from friends, Mitch Davies was approached to take over on drumming duties, which he happily accepted, completing the new line up for Kyoto Drive. The band have now finished putting final touches to their 7 track mini album 'The Approach' with producer Matt O'Grady (Deaf Havana, You Me At Six) and have recently signed to London's I Am Mighty Records. With more UK and Euro tours to be announced, 2012 is set to be the year of Kyoto Drive.
